We tend to think of omnivores as people who eat vegetables and meat. But, in fact, being an omnivore means, to us, that a person simply tries to eat a wide variety of foods, including more plant-based items, throughout the day and week.
Human diets have evolved over many centuries. But the evolution hasn’t necessarily been a healthy one. As hunter-gatherers, we started out eating a wide variety of foods. That variety decreased somewhat as we became farmer/gardeners.
But now that we’re predominantly food shoppers, our diet has become dangerously simple. A handful of plants and products overwhelm our diets so we’re essentially eating the same old ingredients day after day -- white flour, white sugar, vegetable oil, meat from industrial farms, and carbohydrates from food processing factories.
The foods you’ll find in our online store were created specifically to provide variety and complexity of ingredients and flavors. Just take a look at our Ingredient Statements and you will see the difference.
Basically, we offer complex recipes with many ingredients that will make you an omnivore without the stress and expense of excessive shopping. All of our products, including our popcorn, sauces, nut mix, and cornbread, feature a healthful complexity. Our salad "product" is rather a salad process that takes us back to our gatherer/farmer roots -- growing and harvesting fresh salad crops.
Our popcorn offers coconut and red palm oils (sustainably farmed) as our base coat. Then, we sprinkle on nutritional yeast, which is an excellent source of vitamins. Top off the air-popped kernels with onion and garlic powder, and a touch of chili pepper and maple syrup, and you have a tasty treat that's also nourishing.
We also create a delicious stock as the basis of our sauces, add plenty of vegetables that are lightly cooked, and finish off with plenty of herbs and spices to provide a complex array of flavors. Each ingredient adds extra flavor and nutrition.
Our nut mix is designed for the omnivore because it provides many nuts, seeds, tropical oils and sea salt. Similarly, our cornbread has a large array of ingredients, from grains to seeds to tropical oils.
Even if you don’t have trouble digesting wheat products, try our gluten-free cornbread to enjoy an array of grains and seeds that we use to replace the white flour.
Our salad project involves our customers, not as merely a consumer, but as the grower and harvester of the salad crops. We assist our customers by providing the tools needed to harvest and prepare a daily fresh salad.
Become an omnivore by trying all of our products. You'll save time in preparing your meals, save money in your food budget, and reclaim your health.
