Anyone who has ever craved curry knows the dilemma of being stuck between making the recipe from scratch, or simply just ordering take-out. While the latter may be a lot quicker, tons of sodium, saturated fats, and even MSG can be lurking inside the take-out box.
In contrast, making curry from scratch is infamously time consuming. Most recipes require at least 10 ingredients, and at least an hour or two of cooking and preparation.
Here at APM Food Works, we get that you may love home-made thai curry but might not have the time to make it from scratch yourself. After all, there are numerous health benefits of curry, including the prevention of cancer, heart disease, and inflammation.
That’s why we make our thai red curry with local ingredients from the Mid-Atlantic region for a tasty, yet nutritious recipe. Throwing in our wild-caught salmon, rice blend, and vegetables, this recipe is under 450 calories, and filled with omega-3s, amino acids, and fiber.
Here’s our 4-ingredient salmon curry in less than 20 minutes

Just heat the salmon, pour on some of our sauce, add some of our roasted vegetables, and you've got a real meal. Or use thawed and chilled salmon in a salad.

Roasted and Seasoned Vegetables
Make any meal or salad extra delicious and nutritious with our new packs of roasted and seasoned vegetables. Each pack offers a medley of vegetables that are fully cooked and ready to eat, containing 12 oz of vegetables. Price is $3.85 per pouch.
Add them to your sauce to supplement a hot meal, or do the same for your salads. You'll love the convenience.
The packs are vacuum sealed, so you can keep them in your refrigerator for more than a week unopened. Once opened, please use them within three days.
Vegetables included will change throughout the growing season, as we buy most of our product direct from local farms. For right now we offer: carrot, broccoli, squash, and golden beets.
We offer a medley pack of 12 oz as a standard product, but we can prepare the same size package consisting of one vegetable, e.g. all broccoli, as a special order. Just ask.
Broccoli Mash is a great side dish that contains broccoli, carrot, butter, salt and pepper. That's is! Simple and delicious.
We recommend this product as a quick add-on to our Easy Meals. And it's a nice alternative to our roasted broccoli, which we also like with Easy Meals. Broccoli Mash comes in a 12 oz pouch, enough for about 4 servings.
This broccoli is shipped frozen and keeps for months in the freezer. The day before you're ready to eat some, move a package from the freezer to the fridge to thaw slowly. The next day heat some in the microwave and add to your dinner plate, along with the other components of an Easy Meal (protein, sauce, rice blend, etc.)
Take any remaining product in its pouch and clip it shut, then store in the fridge for later in the week. Please consume the remaining amount within 5 days of opening.
Rice Blend, Fully Cooked
To accompany your Easy Meals or add to one of our soups or a salad, we offer
a rice blend, composed of Brown Basmati Rice and Wild Rice.
You will enjoy the flavorful blend of rices, the nuttiness of the texture, and how it works with our sauces.
We package the rice blend in a vacuum-sealed pouch that is frozen. Our blend is fully cooked and ready to heat and eat, or add thawed and still chilled to a salad. The price is $4.85 and contains 16 oz -- enough for four or five meals (3-4 oz serving size).
Serving sizes 4 people:
Pre-preparation step: Thaw
Both our curry sauce and salmon fillets are ideal for freezing for later. We recommend taking them out to thaw 7-8 hours before cooking. Otherwise, you can also store both in your fridge to cook immediately.
Also, our rice is pre-cooked as well, so you may also freeze this or store in your fridge.
Step 1: Boil curry sauce
First you will bring the curry to a boil, after it is fully thawed (if frozen). Then, empty the entire container into a medium-sized saucepan on medium-low as well. Stir the curry every one minute or so while it heats up.
Step 2: Heat rice
Since the rice blend is already cooked, you don’t have to worry about over boiling the rice or sticky pots and pans. You can simply heat our blend in the microwave if you’d like it to be served separately. Otherwise, you can heat the entire rice blend in our curry sauce.
Step 3: Add in salmon
Our salmon is already broiled for optimal taste and convenience, so you don’t have to worry about cooking the salmon separately. Once the salmon is thawed, you can simply cut into 1-inch piece or slice each fillet in half. This is simply a matter of personal preference.
Add in the salmon once the sauce comes to a boil. Stir and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4: Add in roasted vegetables
Once the salmon is well mixed in, we recommend adding our seasonal roasted vegetables for a fuller flavor. These are also already roasted as well, so all you will need to do is add them in and let simmer for additional 3 minutes.
Step 5: Serve
Voila, now you’re ready to serve up to four people with this thai salmon curry over basmati and wild rice rice. Even if it’s just for you, this recipe is ideal for leftovers. In fact, the salmon soaked in curry can be even more flavorful the next day or two.
This whole meal costs less than $30 and takes less than 20 minutes. That’s less than $8 per meal and less than 450 calories per serving.
Our rice blend and salmon is also perfect for a summer salad, as we approach spring. Perhaps this is another recipe to come?
